At the Hit Dawg Academy, our teachings used for our lessons for players are based on very sound philosophies. In our teachings we use video analysis to show what upper level players do to be successful. It is important for players to understand why we teach what we teach in order for them to advance their own skills. We believe there are two types of players. One type is the very athletically gifted player and the other is talented, but needs to hone those talents in. Through our experiences we have realized that both types of players need repetition in the skill they are working on, but more importantly they need to be doing the skills correctly. So, our program focuses on practicing correct mechanics through drills that Shawn has seen professional players do and has personally done throughout his career. Each program we do is catered to the player's skill level, body type, position(s) played, and strengths and weaknesses. During the initial lesson we evaluate the player in all of these areas. In baseball & softball you cannot teach everyone the same way because everyone's strengths and weaknesses are different. There are some things in baseball & softball that every good hitter or pitcher does the same, but it's how they get there that is the most important thing. Our philosophy is based on working with the player's strengths to give him the best opportunity to succeed over and over again. At the Hit Dawg Academy, we offer hitting, pitching, catching, and fielding lessons.

Hit Dawg Academy requires that you provide at least 24 hours notice for all lesson cancellations. For any no-show, or if you fail to give at least 24 hours notice that you wish to cancel your lesson you will be charged half the cost of your lesson. For all cancellations you will receive an account credit. No refunds will be issued. We appreciate your consideration and understanding.**
