2023/2024 Softball Academy Program 7-18U Players

The Hit Dawg Academy's philosophy is based on player development. Anybody and everyone that wants to work hard on their softball skills, and improve as a player is invited to join our program. Our staff is dedicated to getting you prepared to play at the next level. This is a DEVELOPMENTAL OPPORTUNITY. We focus strongly on fundamentals and the necessary mechanics needed to be successful in softball. From there, winning will take care of itself.

This opportunity is for players ages 7 to 18 years of age. The program will go from 10/1/23 through 3/3/24. There will be a total of 5 monthly payments due for the 2023/2024 season- October, November, December, January, & February. The October payment will be paid at the time of registration. Each monthly payment thereafter will be run on the 1st of each month.

Free Monthly Lessons October through December:

If you are Registered as an Academy Member you will be able to sign up for your Free Monthly Lesson for October, November, and December by choosing Academy Member Lessons, then Softball One Free 2 Player Lesson.

You will receive one Free Hitting Lesson for the Months of October, November, and December. There is no additional charge for the free lesson each month- it is included in your monthly payment. These lessons must be used by 12/31/23.

Here are the options for the Softball Academy Program for 2023/2024:

12-18U Program

Option 1: One Hitting/Defense Practice per week- M or SA. This option includes 1 free lesson per month from October through December. $225/month

Option 2: Two Hitting/Defense Practices per week- M & SA. This option includes 1 free lesson per month from October through December. $325/month

Option 3: Two Pitching/Catching Practices per week- W & SU. This option includes 1 free lesson per month from October through December. $250/Month

Option 4: Attend all practices each week- M, W, SA, & SU. This option includes 1 free lesson per month from October through December. $450/Month

7-11U Program
During these 90-minute practices, we will cover throwing form and work through a progression throughout the duration of the Academy program. A large part of our focus will be on catching and receiving and teaching the girls to trust their gloves and use it as an extension of their hand. When we focus on defensive work, our goal will be to get the girls to learn to move through the ball, find the correct footwork, and learn how to apply that to every position on the field. With the hitting portion of the hour, we will bring in several different tools to assist in teaching the girls to find the most powerful swings they can create! From tees, a handful of pitching machines, side toss, and front toss, we will use all of the tools to allow the girls to grow with their physical swing and hitting knowledge.

Option 5: One Hitting/Defense/Throwing Practice per week TH 5-6:30 PM or SA 1-2:30 PM. This option includes 1 free lesson per month from October through December. $200/Month

Option 6: Two Hitting/Defense/Throwing Practices per week TH 5-6:30 PM & SA 1-2:30 PM. This option includes 1 free lesson per month from October through December. $275/Month

Practice Schedule:

Mondays- 6-8 PM for Option 1, 2, & 4 Players

Wednesdays- 6-7 PM for Option 3 & 4 Players

Thursdays- 5-6:30 PM for Option 5 & 6 Players

Saturdays- 11 AM- 1 PM for Option 1, 2, & 4 Players
1-2:30 PM for Option 5 & 6 Players

Sundays- 10-11 AM for Option 3 & 4 Players

Scheduling Changes:

~NO PRACTICES: October 28th- October 29th due to coaches being out of town for team tournament. We have added practices on 3/2/24 & 3/3/24 to make up for these dates.

~Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday: November 23rd- November 26th

~Closed for Christmas Holiday: December 23rd- December 25th.

~Closed for New Years Holiday: December 30th- January 1st

~Adjusted practice times for the week between Christmas and New Years.

We will be adjusting our Academy Practice format and schedule over winter break for December 26th through December 28th. We know many families travel and have other fun plans over the winter break. Practices will be set up as an open gym setting from 4-8 PM each day, so that players can come in whenever works best for them for Baseball and Softball Academy. Our Hit Dawg coaches will be running the Open Gym sessions. Open gym times will be sent out to players. We would like to invite parents to come in with their player(s) if you would like, so you can ask any questions you have about our practices/program, and get a better understanding of what we do.

You do not need to sign up to attend any of the Open Gym practices. You may attend as many Open Gym practices as you would like over 12/26-12/28.|

*Reminder: Hit Dawg will be CLOSED 12/23 through 12/25 & CLOSED 12/30 through 1/1. Our Regular Practice schedule will resume on 1/2/23.

**For all Options, Academy Players will have the option to come in for open gym/use the workout facilities during our regular business hours for $5/session. Open Gym is ONLY open to Academy Members. An Academy member may bring a sibling or friend (ACADEMY MEMBER MUST BE PRESENT THE ENTIRE TIME) for $10 per player.

This is a 5 month program/commitment. New players may sign up for the program until 1/1/24. After this date, we will not accept new sign ups for the 2023/2024 season. You may not take months "off" from the program for any reason. The only reason we will allow a player to take am month off from paying for the program is if they suffer a softball injury. If you are injured in another sport/activity (unrelated to softball) during our season, you will still be required to pay for the time you miss from our practices.
