Tommy La Stella

2-8-19

Tommy came in with the typical bench player mentality and swing. I went back and looked into his swings from previous years. He had changed and tried different set ups and stances in the minor leagues, and in his short time in the big leagues. Goal- get him to stay above the bal,l so he can get the proper spin on the ball (PULL SIDE)

3 different parts to the video. The first swing (crouch) was his regular swings from years past. His comfort zone. His regular swing. The second swing (taller but over home plate) gave him the ability to pull the ball with true spin on his elevation. The third swing (Tall with no lean over home plate) gave him high average with no pull side elevation

His swing in the off season vs his regular season swing

He started holding his back side up, with the barrel position, which gave him the ability to create pull side back spin
