Brian Goodwin

Goodie day 1 video to the last day I took video of him. He went through a couple different issue during the season. Hands would creep away from him in his load. They would also get a lot lower as he set himself into his front side before he gathered back

On 4-5-19, video his drills at the time. He did regular flips with flashing glasses. He did this for the first part of the year. He did another drill to hold his posture and help his front side stay closed. He did his drill for a couple of weeks

5-19-17

We can start to see his sequence with his hand get out of rhythm. Hands are starting to creep down and away from his body in half of his ABs

He starts to work on holding these positions. You can see from his work from earlier in the year that the hands are starting in a different position which is causing some issues with his timing and getting the barrel off on plane

5-24-19

Another issue he started having was getting his barrel up on time. It would get up late. Then he would have to make his decision on whether it was a strike or ball much later. This was causing a lot of issues. He would work on his timing with his hands during BP and Cage work

Another issue was has he would point the knob of his bat more toward the 3rd base then have it pointing more away from him. This become a big deal because when he would bring the barrel up. This noew angle would be more up and down then having a little more tilt toward the pitcher

On the left, you can see the angle that he was create. This gave the barrel some lag and let his hands set into position. His would get the ball to elevate pull side with the right spin to do damage.

On the right, with the barrel position more up and down. He wouldn't allow the arc of the barrel to work on plane. This was causing some big issues and need to be fix

5-1-19

Some of the issue started leading to his set up getting to much lean towards home plate. Getting his hands to stay higher and knob to point in the right direction started cleaning some of these issues up

Hands would creep down. Something that I would have to remind him over and over and over

In a 3 week period, you can see how the the simplest changes can cause a chain of events. Need to catch them before it gets out of hand. Then have to monitor it.
